Dome of the Rock

With the extra time I've had in Jerusalem, I was able to organize a shoot that fulfilled many wishes, both mine and some children's. Since my first trip, I've wanted to visit the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock, but access is extremely limited for non-Muslims. On most days, a public pathway from the Western Wall is open for just a few short hours, and my priorities are usually elsewhere. After all, I'm not here to be a tourist.

Overview: Gaza Strip, 2012

Thanks to the kind support of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), I traveled to the Gaza Strip in November of 2012. The agency provides education, health care, social services, and emergency aid to nearly 1.2 million refugees living within the territory.

Hopes for Peace

While finalizing plans to visit shelters in Sderot tomorrow, I caught UNRWA spokesman Christopher Gunness on Al Jazeera. Chris facilitated my trip to Gaza, and he's been extremely generous with his time. We managed to squeeze in a quick coffee in between his interviews a few days ago.
